My name is Debbie and I am a fully endorsed, Clinical Psychologist.
I am very gentle in my approach to psychological issues, as I believe that most people are already criticising themselves enough already! My aim is to understand and support and work collaboratively, to help my clients achieve their mental health goals.
I have published a research article on ‘self-compassion’ and am passionate about helping to replace your negative and judgmental inner voice, with a kinder way of self-relating, to reduce depression and anxiety symptoms and promote resilience and optimism.
As a Mother myself, to two neuro-diverse boys, I especially enjoy working with children and supporting parents with positive parenting techniques, emotion coaching and emotion regulation skills.

My previous experience as a Behavioural Therapist (working with children with Autism and Developmental Delay), has afforded me a unique insight into working with families in a warm and empathic way.

APHRA stands for Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority. Ahpra is the organisation responsible for the implementation of the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme across Australia

Seeking help takes courage. In my experience, most people are more compassionate towards others, then they are to themselves. They will quickly advise someone they care about to seek support, whilst struggling through their own life difficulties alone.

It is sometimes difficult to reach out for support and for a lot of people, the therapy process can be quite daunting. However, with a good therapeutic relationship and the right evidence based treatment, the results can be life changing.

Whether you are concerned about yourself or a loved one, please contact me to so we can work collaboratively together, to establish your needs and your therapy goals.
I am located at the Baldivis Business Centre. As you enter the building, please take a seat in the communal reception. I will come and get you when it is time for your appointment
Clinical psychology is a speciality in the field of Psychology, in the assessment and diagnosis of mental illnesses and psychological problems.
The pathway to become a clinical psychologist involves (at least) 6 years of study at a university level, plus an additional 2 years of post-graduate training.
In addition, to maintain my endorsement, I undertake continual learning in areas such as prevention, diagnosis, assessment and treatment.
As a clinical psychologist, I can provide a wide range of psychological services to individuals with mental health conditions that range from mild to severe and complex.
I utilise a range of evidenced-based techniques and therapies, to tailor an individualised program, to meet the needs and goals of my clients.
I have worked in private practice, not-for-profit organisations (trauma focused) and community mental health (acute and comorbid mental health).
I have diverse experience working with a range of psychological issues, and enjoy working across varying ages and developmental stages.
My areas of interest include:
I would describe myself as an eclectic Clinician, drawing from a variety of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Inter-personal therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Skills Training, Behavioural Psychology, Emotional Therapy, Parenting skills, Schema Therapy and Mindfulness.
I have completed training in Enhanced Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (E-CBT) for eating disorders. I have additional specialist training in Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Re-processing (EMDR) and Imagery Rescripting – which are both evidenced based treatments for traumatic memories.
